Cruel Solitaire is an unusual solitaire game, which many people think has a low success rate. However, careful planning will allow the advanced solitaire player to win more than 50% of the games they play.

The trick to winning cruel solitaire is knowing when to deal from the claw. When you

first start playing cruel solitaire, it looks like it’s all about the random claw

shuffle the cards, but it’s not like that. A deal from the heel just deals the

cards in the same order they currently appear.

This allows an advanced player to have some knowledge of what will happen when

the heel deal is done… which vastly improves the chances of winning each game of

cruel solitaire you play.

There are certain easy-to-learn patterns that help with this.

If all the piles to the left of a pile have 4 cards before the deal, then

after the deal, the card that is on top will remain on top.

For example, suppose the first 3 stacks appear like this:

Pile-A: 4 cards

Pile-B: 4 Cards

Stack-C: 5 Cards with a 5 of Diamonds on top.

All the piles before the C-Pile have 4 cards, so after a deal, all 5 of

Diamonds will still be at the top of Stack-C.

This is the same no matter how many cards are in Stack-C. So if the stacks are like

this:

Pile-A: 4 cards

Pile-B: 4 Cards

Stack-C: 2 Cards with a 5 of Diamonds on top.

So the 5 of Diamonds will still be on top of Stack-C after a heel renegotiation.

But if a previous stack does not have 4 cards, then the card will NOT stay on top.

after a renegotiation.

So if the stacks are like this:

Pile-A: 5 cards

Pile-B: 4 Cards

Stack-C: 2 Cards with a 5 of Diamonds on top.

So the 5 of Diamonds will NOT be on top of Stack-C after a deal.

Knowing this pattern will give you much greater control over cruel solitaire, and

allows for some powerful strategies that will greatly increase your chances of winning.

victorious.

DO NOT ALWAYS MOVE LETTERS TO THE FOUNDATION…

Due to the pattern above, it doesn’t always make sense to move a card to the

heel at the first opportunity. Instead, you can keep the card and make sure

that you do not put extra cards in the piles to the left.

This way, you can keep dealing, expose new cards, and KNOW that the

the card will always remain in play. Only when you can’t make any more moves should you

then you move the card to the base.

This gives you the best opportunity to continue playing, without crashing the game. and so?

leads to a general procedure, which you can follow to win many more games of cruel

lonely…

A GENERAL PROCEDURE TO WIN CRUEL LONELY…

Here is a procedure that will help you win cruel solitaire. It’s not perfect, and you

probably make your own mods as you get better at the game but it shows

how to play cruel solitaire carefully to avoid crashes.

A – Find the rightmost card that can go on the claw.

B – Make as many moves to the right of that card as you can, starting with the highest rank

one is

C-Renegotiation

D – Go back to A

Once there are no more moves that can be made to the right of the card, then move

the card in the pile to the foundation, and then deal, and return to A.

If you can’t play any cards, then arrange as many cards as you can, starting with the highest rank.

some, and then deal.

That’s all!

You can definitely modify this procedure to make it better, but I’ve tried to keep it

simple here, and should allow you to play cruel solitaire much better than before.

Have fun!
