Take a large skillet, preferably a cast iron skillet, and place it on a stove burner. Turn the heat to medium. Drop half a stick of butter into the pan. Use more butter if you like a good buttery flavor. Melt the butter completely. For about two cups of Cheerios in the melted butter. Use more Cheerios if the pan will hold them. Stir to coat the Cheerios in butter, then stir frequently until the Cheerios are toasted to a light brown color. keep an eye on them. They burn quickly.
